A New Way to Keep Our Horizons Whānau Connected
Kia ora e te whānau, and welcome to the first edition of The Inside Scoop!
At Horizons Montessori, we believe deeply in strong partnerships between home and centre. When whānau understand what’s happening behind the scenes—both within our centre and across the wider early childhood sector—it builds trust, shared understanding, and a united approach to supporting our tamariki.
That’s why we’re launching a new regular blog series called The Inside Scoop.
What is The Inside Scoop?
The Inside Scoop is where we’ll share updates about:
What’s happening in the background at Horizons
Learning and curriculum developments
Sector changes and advocacy work
Professional growth for our kaiako
Initiatives and improvements underway
Anything important that impacts our children, families, and community
Think of it like an open window into the leadership side of our centre and the wider world of early childhood education.
Why are we doing this?
Because communication and transparency matter.
Families deserve to know what is happening in the world that shapes their child’s education—and we want to provide information that is clear, accessible, and meaningful.
We know that when parents and teachers are connected, children feel more confident, secure, and supported. This aligns strongly with Te Whāriki’s vision of empowering children to grow as confident, competent learners who know they belong.
What to Expect
Each edition of The Inside Scoop will highlight a key topic or update, such as:
Centre developments and improvements
Changes in regulations or funding
Updates related to learning support or inclusion
Our involvement in advocacy and sector conversations
Celebrations and successes
Posts will be published regularly here on our website and shared through our centre communication channels.
We’re Excited to Share This Journey With You
Thank you for being part of our Horizons whānau. We are proud of our centre, our team, and the powerful learning community we are building—together.
